This one-week project was carried out in collaboration with a first-year student. On the first day, I met my work partner. She had just arrived at Eracom, so she didn't know much about it. We had to make things simple so that she could understand and realize them.
The workshop focused on discovering tangible interfaces using Arduino. We had to create an interaction using a distance sensor.
First we had an explanation phase. Then we brainstormed to generate as many ideas as possible.
Then we agreed on the concept: to create a tower of kaplas that would interact with the design as it progressed.
To bring our skills together, we decided to create the designs by hand and then animate them using After Effect.
The aim was to show how dangerous the virtual world can be, and how it influences reality. To this end, we designed a tower that grows until it collapses when a bird crashes into it. When the tower collapses in the design, it also collapses in real life.
So we used a motor that was connected to the codes and measurements sent by the distance sensor to engage under the kaplas tower when the bird crashed into it.
